It's been a While

Sat Oct 27, 2007, 9:48 AM
I probably should have updated this a while ago, but I haven't really had time until now. I actually don't really have time now. This semester I've been tremendously busy and I still haven't updated my images. I have a lot to add, but haven't had time. On top of that, my scanner isn't working. Hopefully things will slow down over the next couple weeks and I'll be able to find time to update everything. We shall see...

Lately I have realized that theater is not y thing. The passion I once had for theater has fizzled out and left me with a useless degree. I've decided to take a year off school once I graduate. During this year I'm going to build my portfolio and look at grad school. I want to go to grad school for art. I do NOT want to teach anything but college students. I would prefer being able to support myself with my art, but I don't think that will happen so I'm prepared to do whatever is necessary to support my art addiction.

Well, I am out of time...Hopefully you shall hear from me soon...

So I decided to take summer classes because I want to graduate on time. I took a two week printmaking class and ended up with some pretty nice prints. We didn't have a whole lot of time to work on our prints so we didn't produce a large number. I've also been working on other art. I hoping that I'll be able to upload them sometime soon, but I've been super busy with my other classes. I'll definitely be able to upload everything by the end of summer.

I took a few art classes this past semester and because there is only one graduating art major, the art department decided to put art from other students in what would be the Senior Show. I'm really glad that I have 8 pieces in the show (more than the graduating major). Hopefully I will be able to take pictures of my work fairly so so I can put it up here. I've already put some of it up.

So I work in spurts...sort of...not really...

Since I am fairly new to DA, I don't have much stuff on here, but I do have a lot of stuff....

As I put my work into my computer, I upload it on here....

The only problem with this is that I don't upload my work as I creat it...or in the order of creation.

This means it looks like I do things in spurts, producing a lot of one thing, then another, then another....making the flow of my work seem choppy.

I really don't like this, because I know that my mind and my work flows better than that. However, I lack the time to upload things in the order they were created (I don't exactly remember what order everything was done in)....

So for the time being...my gallery will just have to be choppy.

But only until I get caught up...

Time!!

So, lately I've been really busy with all the college stuff, homework, midterms and all. I haven't really had time to work on stuff outside of my art classes, but now that I'm on spring break, I should be able to work on some stuff that I haven't been able to finish yet. I've got one piece, however, that I can't finish until I buy some new black artist's pens...mine ran out of ink. Other than that, I've got some ideas buzzing around in my head.

As for the art classes...Ceramics is great and I've been able to make a lot of really neat stuff in there, but........Drawing is not so great. My professor is tallented, but he's so full of himself that he doesn't really bother with the students. Now, I'm not saying I'm the best artist there is, but I really don't believe I should be in the BEGINNING Class. I understand, I haven't had much of a real education when it comes to the arts, but I have done some good work....

Which gets me to my gallery. I really need to update it some more. I have a whole lot more work than that....some of it, much better quality. Perhaps that will be my project for the break...

Here I will leave you.
